Abstract:
The present invention relates to a device for generating and storing an integral image and a method therefor. An integral image data generation device according to the present invention may comprise: a block structure integral image generation unit for receiving an input of the signal values of pixels included in an input image and generating a block structure integral image block including integral image pixels, at least one column-wise integral image pixel, and at least one row-wise integral image pixel; a memory unit for storing the signal values of each of the integral image pixels, the column-wise integral image pixel, and the row-wise integral image pixel included in the block structure integral image block; and an integral image data calculation unit for calculating the integral image signal value at a target coordinate in the input image, using the signal values of the pixels included in the block structure integral image block. By using a block structure in this way, the integral image data generation device according to the present invention and the method therefor have the advantage of generating integral image data while reducing memory usage as compared to conventional integral images.
