Description:
INTELLIGENT WINDOW WITH THE ABILITY TO CONTROL LIGHT EITHER

INTELLIGENTLY OR MANUALLY

DESCRIPTION

Technical field of the invention:

Technical field of the invention related to the segments able to be used in the buildings.

Background of the invention:

The importance and necessity of economizing energy is clear to all. During the summer season, some part of the coolness in the buildings may be wasted because of the heat cause by the sun shine. On the other hand, sun heat can be used to keep the house warm during the winter and reduce the use of heating systems.

Moreover, some of the families prefer to block the sight of the windows at nights when the light inside is more than the light outside the building. This issue may be forgotten for several reasons.

Prior Art:

So far some samples of intelligent windows with different technologies have been invented in the field of light management. Electrochromic glasses, nano and liquid crystal glasses, Arrays of nano-chemistry of polyaniline, poly crystal glasses, light- sensitive glasses (photo chromic) and nano crystals.

This technology has not been mass produced for different reasons including high cost, high cost of manufacturing and maintenance due to the complicated technology, lack of commercialization, and the lack of controlling the degree of glass darkness. In some of these glasses such as photo chromic, the glass undergoes chemical changes against the sun light, gets dark and the user cannot control the darkness or brightness of the glass.

One of the inventions which has been granted a patent in this regard has the publication Number of 104614888 which uses liquid crystal to control the entrance of light.

In order to overcome the above mentioned problems, an object of the present invention provides a liquid crystal-based mobile electrical response smart windows, the smart condition the incident light, reflection and transmission. Summary of the invention:

In the present invention, a gray anti-UV Thin Sheet Plexiglass has been used and it consists of different degrees of darkness. The degree of darkness differs from the top to the bottom and it changes from the lowest extent of darkness to the highest. The height of this sheet is several times as high as the height of window and it is coiled around two cylinders from the up and down side. One of the cylinders is placed in the upper frame of the window and the other one is in the bottom frame.

Two electric gearbox motor open and close this sheet. These motors are connected to an intelligent control system which receives the light mode by a sensor inside the building and another sensor outside the building. After analyzing the received information, control system commands the sheet to move either upward or downward. It causes the darkness of the sheet to change in the window frame and less or more light enter the building. This process is done when the user puts the system at an automatic mode by the mobile phone. Otherwise, the user can control the extent of light manually.

In the manual control mode, when the darkness increasing key is pressed, the gearbox motors are activated and drags the dark sheet downside in order to reach the darker part of the sheet. After the darkness decreasing key is pressed, the gearbox motors are activated and drag the dark sheet upside in order to reach the bright part of the sheet and whenever the user finds the darkness of the window desirable, he/she can stop this process.

The energy required for this system is provided by the solar cells and when the system is inactive, the energy received from the solar cells is saved in a battery in order to be used when needed.

Home sun system: this system measures the extent of light outside and inside the building by two light-measuring sensors which are installed inside and outside the window frame and compares it with the extent of standard extent of each environment. In case the extent of light is lower than the standard and the eyes will be damaged by working there, the system shows a warning. This invention can measure the intensity of light and show to the user. Each environment needs a specific extent of light depending on its use (for example, a designing room needs more right than a sleeping room) so that the user working in that environment does not suffer from eye problems because of the lack of light. This system measures the intensity of the light depending on the standards that are defined for each environment and announces it to the user. In case the intensity of light is lower than normal level, the user is warned to prevent the eye problems which will be caused by working in dark environment.

Brief description of the drawings:

Figure 1 : a general view of the system installed in the window.

Figure 2: a close view of the sheet dragging system and the motor

The detailed description of the drawings:

Since the energy consumption of this system is very low, the required energy can be supplied by the solar cells 1 .

The energy supplying source gives the electricity to the control system 2 to enable the motors 3 to process the information, and run.

This system receives the information about lumen existing inside and outside the environment by the light sensor 4 and commands the motors 3 according to the predetermined instructions in the control system. Gray sheet 5 is coiled around thin cylinders 6 in the up and down side of the window. The cylinders are connected to the motors, as well.

At the bottom of the window frame some lights 7 are installed which indicate the condition of the system:

1 . Green light indicates the normal mode

2. Yellow light which includes the video warning on the smart phone

3. Orange light which includes the video and audio warning on the smart phone

4. The red light which includes the video and audio warning on the smart phone and indicates the lack of light by turning on a light

As it was already pointed out, the height of sheet is several times as high as the height of the window and it changes from complete brightness to complete darkness. In order to avoid damaging the sheet, we put it between the two layers of window. Therefore, when the light inside is low and the outside light is high, the system runs the motors in order to coil the dark side of the sheet around the cylinders and show the bright part in the windows, and vice versa.

Advantages of the invention:

1 . Avoiding the loss of energy to provide light, coolness or heat for the buildings.

2. The ability to be installed on all of the two-layered glasses, partitions and glass doors.

3. This system can filter harmful rays like ultra-violet up to 99% by using gray anti- UV sheets and prevent their penetration from the window. As a result, the eye problems as well as the color fade or erosion of home furniture will be prohibited.

4. This system can be used in the windows, partitions and glass doors to limit the view when required.

5. Having a simple system

6. Low cost of production

7. Low cost of maintenance and extra parts

One executive method for invention application:

This system can be used in the two-layered windows, two-layered glasses, partitions and glass doors.

This window creates the possibility of light control at two intelligent and manual modes. The system is connected to the window by software which is installed on the mobile phone and connected to the WIFI technology. As a result, the user can control the light as desired or can let the system to adjust the light according to the determined standard.
