Title:
INTERDIGITATED MICROELECTRODE BIOSENSOR USING HYDROGEL
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2017/090838
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an interdigitated microelectrode biosensor using a hydrogel that comprises: a first interdigitated microelectrode having a plurality of first protruding electrodes arranged in a comb form on a substrate; a second interdigitated microelectrode facing the first interdigitated microelectrode and having a plurality of second protruding electrodes arranged in a comb form on the substrate, wherein the plurality of second protruding electrodes are interdigitated with the plurality of first protruding electrodes formed in the first interdigitated microelectrode; and a hydrogel with which the space between the first and second interdigitated microelectrodes arranged to be interdigitated with each other is filled. As such, in detecting a presence or absence of a biomaterial, such as protein et cetera, and the concentration thereof by measuring the impedance between the interdigitated microelectrodes, the hydrogel provided between the interdigitated microelectrodes can increase the impedance detection width and the detection limit by tens to hundreds of times and can enhance the accuracy of detection.
