Abstract:
An interior automotive woven fabric of PPT fibers which comprises a double woven fabric having a face fabric weave in which the number of warp weave points (P) where the warp (W) overlies the weft (F) is larger than that of weft weave points (Q) where the weft overlies the warp. The warps are obtained by twisting combined filament yarns each comprising a multifilament yarn of PPT fibers and a multifilament yarn of heat-shrinkable PET fibers having a degree of shrinkage in boiling water of 15% or higher. In the warps, the proportion of the PPT fiber multifilament yarns is higher than that of the PET fiber multifilament yarns and the PET fiber multifilament yarns have been thermally shrunk to make them shorter than the PPT fiber multifilament yarns. The wefts (F) comprise a PPT fiber multifilament yarn. The PET fiber multifilament yarn and the PPT fiber multifilament yarn each has a single-fiber fineness of 7 dtex or less. Taking advantage of the feature of PPT fibers which is different from that of PET fibers, an interior automotive PPT-fiber woven fabric can be practically produced.
