Abstract:
In an interior permanent magnet electric motor (1) equipped with a stator (3) and a rotor (5), the outline of each of a plurality of magnet insertion holes (21) has a radial direction inside line (53), a radial direction outside line (55), a pair of side lines (57), a pair of first round portions (61), and a pair of second round portions (63). A thin wall portion (18) is formed between the outer circumferential surface (25) of the rotor and each of the side lines. Each of the first round portions is provided between the corresponding edge portion of the corresponding radial direction outside line and the corresponding edge portion of the corresponding side line. Each of the second round portions is provided between the corresponding edge portion of the corresponding radial direction inside line and the corresponding edge portion of the corresponding side line.
