An intermediate represented by the general formula (I): (I) (wherein R¹ represents propyl, 2−propenyl, or 2−propinyl and R² represents C₄₋₈ alkyl)&semi a process for producing the intermediate&semi and a process for producing from the intermediate an optically active compound represented by the general formula (V). (V) By the process, a compound having a high optical purity and represented by the general formula (V) can be efficiently produced at low cost in a high chemical yield.
