Abstract:
An intermediate stalk (10) for use in a low pressure casting device has a metallic sheath (2) and a precast refractory (1) which is fitted to the inside of the metallic sheath (2) removably therefrom, wherein a gap (3) for releasing air is provided between the sheath (2) and the precast refractory (1) in the plan view.
The intermediate stalk enables water to be drained well from a refractory insulating material at the time of heating with no risk of burst, eliminates cracking of the refractory insulating material due to difference in coefficient of thermal expansion between the refractory insulating material and the metallic sheath, and facilitates replacement of the refractory insulating material. Also provided are a method for producing the intermediate stalk and a low pressure casting device.
