Abstract:
Disclosed is an internal combustion engine control device which prevents damage to an actuator diaphragm at high temperatures and increases the heat resistance thereof. A valve actuator (30) is equipped with a communicating aperture (76) linking a high-pressure chamber (64) and a low-pressure chamber (66) closed off by a diaphragm (62). The communicating aperture (76) is opened and closed by an equipped normally closed reed valve (78). If the temperature t of the valve actuator (30) is equal to or less than a pressure release temperature T1, an ECU (50) uses a pressure regulation valve (86) to control the valve actuator (30) by altering the pressure difference between the high-pressure chamber (64) and the low-pressure chamber (66). This control is carried out within a pressure difference range which does not cause the reed valve (78) to open. If the temperature t exceeds the pressure release temperature T1, the pressure regulation valve (86) produces a pressure difference that causes the reed valve (78) to open. This allows pressure from the high-pressure chamber (64) to release into the low-pressure chamber (66) at high temperatures, thereby protecting the diaphragm (62).
