Abstract:
Provided are a control device and method for an internal combustion engine, wherein when the control device (40) drives an exhaust turbine supercharger (12) by driving an electric power generator (32) before causing an injector (19) to be driven during startup of a diesel engine body (11), the control device (40) drives an exhaust valve opening/closing device (54) to open an exhaust valve (18) before the point in time when the rotational speed of the exhaust turbine supercharger (12) reaches a surging rotational speed that has been set in advance.
