Abstract:
A combustion engine control method whereby stratified mixed air is formed inside a combustion chamber and stratified combustion is performed, by performing fuel injection at least once both between the intake stroke and the first half of the compression stroke and during the second half of the compression stroke. When there is increased flow energy around the spark plug as a result of fuel spray injected in the second half of the compression stroke, a relatively large discharge current is caused to flow to the spark plug and spark ignition is started. Thereafter the discharge current is made relatively small and discharge is performed for a prescribed period.
