Abstract:
A device and method for controlling an internal combustion engine wherein, when a diesel engine main body (11) is started and the rotation of an exhaust turbine supercharger (12) is assisted by an electric motor (32), and the rotational frequency of the exhaust turbine supercharger (12) reaches a surging rotational frequency, a control device (38) opens an escape valve (26), thereby suppressing surging when the internal combustion engine starts and stops, and improving controllability of the internal combustion engine.
