Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide an internal-combustion engine ignition device with which a high ignition performance and a reduction in size can be achieved. This internal-combustion engine ignition device is provided with: an ignition plug 20 which is installed in an end portion of a plug hole 44 formed in an internal-combustion engine 47; a first ignition coil 18A which has a primary coil 15A and a secondary coil 16A, and a secondary side of which is electrically connected to the ignition plug 20; a second ignition coil 18B which has a primary coil 15B and a secondary coil 16B, and which is connected to the ignition plug 20 in parallel with the first ignition coil 18A; and a control unit 30 which controls energizing of the first ignition coil 18A and the second ignition coil 18B. The configuration is such that the secondary voltage of the second ignition coil 18B is lower than the secondary voltage of the first ignition coil 18A. The control unit 30 causes a secondary voltage to be generated in the first ignition coil 18A, and then causes discharge to be maintained in the ignition plug 20 by causing a secondary voltage to be generated in the second ignition coil 18B.
