Abstract:
The invention relates to an internal combustion engine with at least two rotary pistons which are rotationally arranged in a housing. The rotary pistons respectively comprise a cylindrical core and an external ring, the radius thereof corresponding in area to the inner radius of the housing and the thickness thereof corresponding in area to the thickness of the cylindrical core. At least one segment with a reduced radius and/or different thickness in relation to the thickness of the core is provided in the outer ring, thereby defining a respective combustion chamber between the housing and the rotary pistons. The combustion chambers are connected together and are sealed at least partially in relation to each other by at least one of the sliders which can be displaced by the rotary pistons. The invention also relates to a method for operating said type of engine.
