Abstract:
An internal combustion engine misfire detector (1) detects misfires in a 4-stroke internal combustion engine and has: a crank angle speed calculation unit (2) which calculates the crank angle speed in accordance with the rotational speed of the engine at each prescribed crank angle; a determination parameter calculation unit (4) which calculates a reference value for the crank angle speed, calculates a relative crank angle speed as the deviation between the reference value and the crank angle speed, and calculates the integrated value of the relative crank angle speed; and a misfire determination unit (5) which determines if a misfire occurred on the basis of the integrated value, wherein the determination parameter calculation unit (4) sets an integration interval for the integrated value in accordance with the RPM of the internal combustion engine.
