Abstract:
Provided is an internal combustion engine system having a supercharger (7) operated by exhaust gas. This internal combustion engine system is equipped with: an afterburning promotion means (5) that is provided between the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine (2) and the supercharger (7), and that causes unburned gas emitted from the combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine (2) to burn; and an exhaust purification catalyst (15) provided downstream from the afterburning promotion means (5).
