Abstract:
A water jacket (21) is split in two by a flat-plate-shaped partition wall (23) to form a first water jacket section (24) at a cylinder-head side, and a second water jacket section (25) at a cylinder-block side. The partition wall (23) is connected to a section of a combustion chamber (5) at the side of one side surface of the cylinder head (3), said section connecting an exhaust port wall (7) and the top wall (12) of the combustion chamber (5). Furthermore, the partition wall (23) is connected to a section at the side of another side surface of the cylinder head (3), said section forming a side wall of the combustion chamber (5) at an upper end side of a cylinder wall (16). A knock sensor attachment boss (26) is formed along an extended line of the partition wall (23), at the side of the other side surface of the cylinder head (3).
