Abstract:
This internal combustion engine is capable of suppressing a reduction in durability and reliability of an oil control valve while assuring arrangement spaces to be formed on the front and rear sides of the internal combustion engine, and is provided with: an exhaust side camshaft that has a rotary shaft; an actuator to which oil is supplied and which controls the phase of the exhaust side camshaft by means of pressure of the supplied oil; an oil control valve that is arranged so as to be orthogonal to the rotary shaft of the exhaust side camshaft and that controls the oil supplied to the actuator; and a heat shielding member that cuts off the path of heat conducted from an exhaust manifold to the oil control valve.
