Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to increase the volume of exhaust gas that is discharged from a combustion chamber to an intake port and reliably ensure the volume of exhaust gas that is re-introduced to the combustion chamber, in an intake re-open type internal EGR. An engine (1) comprises: an intake port (7) that supplies air to a combustion chamber (3); an intake valve (10) that opens the intake port (7); an exhaust port (8) that discharges, from the combustion chamber (3) to the outside, exhaust gas generated by combustion of the fuel gas; an exhaust valve (11) that opens and closes the exhaust port (8); and an intake valve cam (23A) that drives the intake valve (10). The intake valve cam (23A) is configured so as to have a period during which the intake valve (10) opens before the exhaust valve (11), after compression top dead center , and the intake valve (10) opens during the exhaust stroke in which exhaust gas is discharged from the exhaust port (8).
