Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a technique for navigation to the location of an intersection without giving rise to disorientation, even when a vehicle has come into proximity to the intersection. [Solution] The intersection navigation system is provided with: a degree of proximity acquisition means for acquiring the degree of proximity of a vehicle with respect to an intersection situated to ahead of the vehicle; and a display control means that displays, on a display unit, a navigation image for navigation to the location of an intersection, the image being shown superimposed on the landscape ahead of the vehicle, and that, in the event that the degree of proximity is less than a threshold value, establishes as the location for superimposition of the navigation image a location within the landscape ahead, which location corresponds to a registered location which has been registered in map data as the location of the intersection, or in the event that the degree of proximity is equal to or greater than the threshold value, establishes as the location for superimposition of the navigation image a location within the landscape ahead, which location corresponds to a location on a straight-ahead line which is a straight line extending from the vehicle in a direction straight ahead from the vehicle.
