The purpose of the present invention is to provide an intestinal flora improvement agent that can improve intestinal flora, using an enzyme to cause beneficial bacteria such as lactobacillales and bifidobacteria to increase in number. A protease that comprises a polypeptide of an amino acid sequence indicated by SEQ ID NO: 1 causes beneficial bacteria such as lactobacillales and bifidobacteria to increase in number in the intestine, and demonstrates a superior intestinal flora improvement effect.
