Abstract:
An intraocular implant having at least part of an optical member coated with a copolymer of 2-methacryloyloxyethylphosphorylcholine and (meth)acrylic ester having a molecular weight of 5000 or more and having a repeating unit of the formula: (I). There is provided a method of inhibiting aftercataract at the use of intraocular implant, and provided a process for producing an intraocular implant furnished with a polymer-containing coating, comprising coating at least part of an optical member of intraocular implant with the above copolymer. In particular, an intraocular implant is dipped in a solution containing the above polymer, and thereafter the intraocular implant is rotated by means of a spin coater to thereby furnish the intraocular implant with the above coating.
