Title:
INTRINSICALLY SAFE MICROPROCESSOR CONTROLLED PRESSURE REGULATOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO2001098692
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
An intrinsically safe microprocessor controlled pressure regulator (10) for operation in a hazardous environment. The intrinsically safe microprocessor controlled pressure regulator (10) receives control commands (46) that are input to a microprocessor (52) in the hazardous environment (28). The microprocessor (52) generates control commands to control operation of an intrinsically safe solenoid valve (76) and an intrinsically safe piezo electric valve (74). The piezo electric valve (74) generates an output signal for controlling operating parameters of the paint gun (20). One or a plurality of microprocessors (52) may operate within a hazardous environment (28) in order to control one or a plurality of intrinsically safe valves (74, 76) in the hazardous environment (28).
