Abstract:
This introducer (10) is provided with: a sheath (12) having a lumen (16a); and a dilator (14) which is used inserted into the lumen (16a) of the sheath (12). At least on the outer surface of a distal end section of the sheath (12), a lubricious coating (32) is provided on an area extending less than 40 mm from the tip of the dilator (14) towards the proximal end. The lubricious coating (32) is not provided on an area located 40 mm or farther from the tip of the dilator (14) toward the proximal end.
