Abstract:
[Problem] The objective of the present invention is to provide technology pertaining to an internal combustion engine which causes pressure energy from the expansion of a mixture gas burned in the same combustion chamber to operate simultaneously on a pair of pistons positioned in a substantially opposed inverted V shape, thereby achieving excellent quietness, oscillation, and durability, and high rotation and high output due to a shortened stroke.
[Solution] An inverted V-twin type substantially opposed engine having a configuration whereby pressure energy from the expansion of a mixture gas burned in the same combustion chamber is made to operate simultaneously on a pair of pistons positioned in an approximately opposed inverted V shape having a prescribed bank angle (185-230 degrees), with rotative power obtained from the left and right pistons via respective left and right crank mechanisms.
