Abstract:
An inverter device is provided with: an inverter main circuit 3 for converting DC power to three-phase AC power using a plurality of semiconductor switching elements SW1-SW6 comprising upper arm switching elements and lower arm switching elements connected in series and disposed between a positive side DC bus line P and a negative side DC bus line N that form DC bus lines; a DC current detection circuit 5 for detecting a current flowing through the DC bus lines; and an inverter control unit 7 for outputting a PWM drive signal for controlling the inverter main circuit 3 on the basis of the DC current detected by the DC current detection circuit 5. A wide band-gap semiconductor element is used for the semiconductor switching elements SW1-SW6, and a parasitic diode of the wide band-gap semiconductor element is used as a free-wheeling diode. The semiconductor switching elements are set such that a reverse recovery time trr of the parasitic diode has a characteristic of (td/100) ≤ trr ≤ (td/10), where td is a short-circuit prevention time for the upper arm switching elements and the lower arm switching elements.
