Abstract:
An ion adsorption module which comprises a vessel having at least an inlet for the water to be treated and being packed with an organic porous ion exchanger which has a three-dimensional network structure comprising an open cell structure having interconnecting macro pores and meso pores having an average diameter of 1 to 1000 μm present inside the wall of macro pores, has a total pore volume of 1 ml/g to 50 ml/g, has ion-exchange groups distributed homogeneously, and exhibits an ion-exchange capacity of 0.5 mg equivalent/g-dry porous material. In the ion adsorption module, the packing of an ion exchanger is greatly easy and a packed bed is not moved even in the case of an upward flow, and thus the ion adsorption module and a method for water treatment using the module are of greatly high utility.
