Abstract:
An ion amount measuring device (20) is used for measuring the amount of carrier ions in ionized air generated by an ion generator (10) having a discharge electrode (11) and a nozzle (12) serving as a discharge electrode. The ion amount measuring device (20) has a cylindrical electrode (22). If the length of the cylindrical electrode (22) is denoted by l, the flow rate of air flowing through the electrode (22) is denoted by U, the detection current flowing through the cylindrical electrode is denoted by Im, and a time constant is denoted by τ, carrier ion current (Io) is calculated by equation [A] by detecting the detection current (Im) by using a current detector (33). The amount of ions in ionized air can be measured at high accuracy on the basis of the carrier ion current (Io) while a member from which static charge is eliminated is being sprayed with the ionized air.
