Abstract:
The present invention provides a structure for an ion conductor for obtaining an electrolyte solution, which exhibits high OH- conductivity even when carbon dioxide or carbonate ions are mixed, by compositing a polymer resin having a cation exchange group and a cationic species forming a layered double hydroxide in an electrochemical device using an anion-conductive electrolyte. The present invention also provides a constituent material for the aforementioned ion conductor, a method for producing said constituent material, and a fuel cell using said ion conductor. The present invention is an ion conductor comprising a composite of a metal hydroxide and a polymer resin, wherein the metal hydroxide contains a cation represented by the composition [M2+
1-xM3+
x(OH)2]x+, and the polymer resin contains a cation exchange group.
