Title:
ION-EXCHANGE MEMBRANE AND METHOD OF REMOVING METAL IMPURITY FROM ORGANIC LIQUID WITH FILTER ELEMENT PROVIDED WITH THE MEMBRANE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2007/136048
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
[PROBLEMS] To provide: an ion-exchange membrane for metal ion removal which is effective in removing metal impurities from an organic liquid or a liquid mixture of an organic liquid and water; and a method of removing metal impurities from an organic liquid or a liquid mixture of an organic liquid and water with the ion-exchange membrane. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] The ion-exchange membrane has an average pore diameter of 5-50 µm, a membrane thickness of 250-5,000 µm, an ion-exchange capacity of 2.0-4.0 meq/g, and a pure-water flow resistance of 50-300 kPa sec cm2/mL. The method comprises using a filter element equipped with the ion-exchange membrane to filter an organic liquid or a liquid mixture of an organic liquid and water. Thus, metal impurities contained in these liquids are removed therefrom.
