Abstract:
A single, flexible discharge electrode (44) is provided on a base (43), high voltage is supplied to the fixed end (44a) of the flexible discharge electrode (44), and the repellent force of the resulting corona discharge rocks or pivots the free end (44b) of the discharge electrode (44) centered on the fixed end (44a). Significantly less dust is generated by the free end (44b) of the discharge electrode (44) than by a bundled electrode made of fine wiring, and the maintenance period of the ion generator (30) can be extended. Because there is a single discharge electrode (44), a more compact ion generator (30) can be realized, the state of the discharge electrode (44) is easier to observe, and maintenance is simpler. Because the discharge electrode (44) rocks or sways, the generated air ions (EI) can be transported within the range of packaging film (10), and ionization efficiency can be improved.
