Abstract:
Provided are an ion separation apparatus and method for ambient ionization mass spectrometry. The ion separation apparatus comprises: an insulation tube (1), the insulation tube (1) being provided with openings at two ends; a first grating ion gate (4), the first grating ion gate (4) being disposed in the insulation tube (1); a second grating ion gate (2), the second grating ion gate (2) being disposed upstream of the first grating ion gate (4) on an ion travel channel; an electrode (3), the electrode (3) being disposed in the insulation tube (1) and being located between the first grating ion gate (4) and the second grating ion gate (2); a migration ring (5), the migration ring (5) being disposed in the insulation tube (1) and being located downstream of the first grating ion gate (4) on the ion travel channel; and a shielding gate (6), the shielding gate (6) being disposed downstream of the migration ring (5) on the ion travel channel, wherein a gas enters the insulation tube (1) after successively passing through a gas inlet (8) and the shielding gate (6); and a gas outlet (9) is disposed on the insulation tube (1) located between the first grating ion gate (4) and the second grating ion gate (2). The apparatus and the method have the advantages of high-resolution separation, little background interference, etc.
