Abstract:
The objective of the invention is to achieve highly sensitive mass spectrometry by improving the efficiency of solvent removal during electrospray ionization or the like. The invention comprises a light-guide path (28) wherein light from a light source is guided and irradiated onto a sample microparticle generated by an atomization device. A nearest-neighbor distance (d2) between a spatial range (34) where the sample microparticle is present and a front end (29) of the light-guide path is between 0.1 mm and 20 mm inclusive. A nearest-neighbor distance (d1) between a light irradiation range (35) yielded by the light-guide path and any nearest neighbor among a sample surface, the atomization device and a sample holding part is between 0.01 mm and 10 mm inclusive.
