Title:
IONTOPHORETIC APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2007/111368
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An iontophoretic apparatus comprising nonworking electrode structure (40) and working electrode structure (20) used to administer drug ions by iontophoresis and comprising direct current power source (12) connected with different polarities to these nonworking electrode structure and working electrode structure, wherein the working electrode structure includes at least working electrode (22) connected to the same polarity as that of the drug ions on the direct current power source and drug solution retaining parts (28,32) electrically connected to this working electrode and retaining a drug becoming the drug ions, and wherein the nonworking electrode structure includes at least a nonworking electrode connected to the polarity opposite to that of the drug ions on the direct current power source and an electrolytic solution retaining part electrically connected to this nonworking electrode and retaining an electrolytic solution, and wherein at least either the working electrode or the nonworking electrode contains either a fibrous or meshed metal or chloride thereof. This arrangement enables long-time use of the iontophoretic apparatus.
