Abstract:
An iris imaging device for picking up an iris image at low costs and with a good accuracy. A telephoto camera (22) and a distance measuring sensor (24) are mounted on a vertically tilting link table (20), and a panning mirror (23) and the sensor (24) can be tilted in lateral directions by a panning motor (26) and a link mechanism (27). Since the imaging direction of the telephoto camera (22) is reflected by the panning mirror (23), and the link mechanism (27) provides to the sensor (24) a rotation angle double that of the mirror (23), a distance measuring direction agrees with the imaging direction to permit a high-accuracy distance measuring. Therefore, only one wide-angle camera (25) is needed to reduce the iris imaging device (10) in production costs. Since the sensor (24) mounted on the tilt table (20) is used to measure a distance while being tilted vertically, a range over which a distance up to an object to be imaged can be measured is expanded vertically.
