Abstract:
An iris region segmentation method and device based on an active appearance model. The method comprises: creating an active appearance model consisting of a human eye shape model and a human eye texture model by using a plurality of pre-collected human eye sample images (S101); matching an inputted human eye image on which iris region segmentation will be performed and the pre-created active appearance model, to obtain a plurality of feature points that present a human eye contour in the inputted human eye image (S102); and selecting, from the multiple feature points, feature points used for fitting boundaries in the inputted human eye image to perform fitting, so as to obtain a segmented iris region (S103), wherein phase congruency information is used for both active appearance model creating and active appearance model matching.
