Abstract:
A method for producing an iron base sintered alloy member having the chemical composition: Cu: 0.5 to 7 %, C: 0.1 to 0.98%, O: 0.02 to 0.3 %, optionally Mn: 0.0025 to 1.05 % and/or Zn: 0.001 to 0.7 %, and Fe and inevitable impurities: the balanced amount, which comprises compounding and mixing a Fe powder, a graphite powder and a Cu alloy powder as raw material powders, molding the resulting mixture, and sintering the molded article, wherein the Cu alloy powder comprises 1 to 10 % of Fe and 0.2 to 1 % of oxygen, optionally contains 0.2 to 10 % of Zn and/or 0.5 to 15 % of Mn, and comprises the balanced amount of Cu and inevitable impurities.
