Abstract:
Disclosed is an iron-based composite material having a higher abrasion resistance and
seizure resistance compared to a steel material, having an excellent impact-absorbing property
and having higher mechanical strength compared to a cast iron material. Also
disclosed is a method for producing the material. The iron-based composite material
comprises at least: a steel structure layer (12); a cast iron structure layer
(14); and a carburization structure layer (13) having a steel structure carburized
therein, which is provided between the steel structure layer (12) and the cast
iron structure layer (14).
