Abstract:
In an ironing die 30 according to the present invention, a carbon film 50 is formed in such a way as to cover at least a processing surface 41 of the die 30, the carbon film 50 characterized by exhibiting a Raman spectrum in which the intensity ratio represented by the following formula (1) is at least equal to 1.0: ID/IG (1) where ID is the maximum peak intensity in the Raman spectrum of the carbon film surface at 1333±10 cm-1, and IG is the maximum peak intensity in the Raman spectrum of the carbon film surface at 1500±100 cm-1, and in that the surface of the carbon film 50 is a smooth surface having an arithmetic mean roughness Ra at most equal to 0.1 µm. This ironing die 30 is capable of performing ironing effectively, without the occurrence of molding defects, even when ironing with a high ironing ratio using a dry process (a lubricant-free method or a low-lubricant method).
