Abstract:

An irrigation device comprising: a cell plug with an upward-facing opening and a holding section that is connected to the opening and is for holding a prescribed amount of a growth medium; a liquid-supplying part for supplying liquid to the growth medium in the cell plug; and a cell plug-raising/lowering part for lowering the cell plug if the weight of the cell plug increases due to liquid supplied by the liquid-supplying part and raising the cell plug if the weight of the cell plug decreases due to drying of the growth medium. The liquid-supplying part: comprises a contact end that intermittently contacts the growth medium as a result of the raising and lowering of the cell plug by the cell plug-raising/lowering part; and supplies liquid while the contact end is in contact with the growth medium and stops liquid supply when the contact end is separated from the growth medium.
