Abstract:
The present invention exponentially shortens computation time for NP-complete problems and the like that are mapped using an Ising model by exponentially shortening computation time for the Ising model. For each pair in a plurality of slave lasers (B), the magnitude and sign of a quasi-Ising interaction between two slave lasers (B) are implemented by controlling the strength, polarity, and phase of light exchanged between the two slave lasers (B) by means of an attenuator (IA) and a wave plate (IP). Then, after the plurality of slave lasers (B) have attained steady states, the quasi-spin of each slave laser (B) is measured by measuring the polarity of the light generated by each slave laser (B), using left-handed circularly polarized light and right-handed circularly polarized light as bases.
