Abstract:
An islanding protection device for a distributed power supply and a detection algorithm thereof. The islanding protection device comprises a step-down transformer (1), a current-limiting reactor (2), a thyristor (3), and a controller unit (4). By triggering the switch-on of the thyristor within a given interval near zero-crossing of a power grid voltage, a controlled short circuit current and distortion of the power grid voltage are created. The detection algorithm comprises an online thyristor (3) firing angle optimization algorithm and an islanding discrimination criterion algorithm. On the basis of an obvious difference between short circuit capacities of a connection point of a distributed power supply supported by or disconnected from a power grid, whether the distributed power supply is in islanding operation can be reliably recognized. The island protection device is a device which can be installed in distributed fashion without depending on any communication medium, features low costs, and is free from signal attenuation and interference problems.
