Abstract:

An apparatus for isolating an object of trapping from a mixture, characterized by comprising a device for trapping the object contained in a mixture and a compulsive dispersion device for applying a compulsive dispersing force to the object trapped by the trapping device and/or a liquid containing the object before trapping, and dispersing the trapped object and/or the object before trapping; a method of isolating a biological substance by using the isolation apparatus; a method of isolating and purifying nucleic acids, characterized by comprising the steps of (a) dissolving cells and compulsively dispersing the dissolved cells to prepare a crude nucleic acid solution, (b) trapping the nucleic acids in the crude nucleic acid solution obtained in the step (a) with a nucleic acid adsorbent under compulsive dispersion, and (c) eluting the nucleic acids trapped in the step (b) from the nucleic acid adsorbent under the compulsive dispersion; and a kit for isolating and purifying the nucleic acids for use in the above method. Biological substances such as nucleic acids, proteins, and peptides can be purified easily and quickly by the separation apparatus, the isolation method, and the method and kit for isolating and purifying the nucleic acids according to the present invention.
