Abstract:
As an isomerization catalyst which enables an efficient isomerization reaction of an olefin even in an environment where oxygen or water is substantially present, while being sufficiently suppressed in catalyst deterioration, the present invention provides a catalyst for isomerizing a first linear olefin to a second linear olefin that is different from the first linear olefin in the double bond position in the presence of 20 ppm by volume or more of molecular oxygen and/or water, said catalyst containing Si, Al and at least one metal element selected from among group 1 elements and group 2 elements, with the molar ratio of Si to Al (namely, Si/Al) being 100 or less.
