Abstract:
Provided are: a jam detection device which reliably detects paper passage abnormalities and prevents paper from remaining inside a device by sensing abnormalities in wirings of signals for detecting paper passage abnormalities; a conveyance device; an image recording device; and a connection state detection method. The abovementioned problem is solved by the jam detection device which comprises: a substrate to which a first output signal and a second output signal, which are based on the passage of sheets of paper, and a timing signal, which regulates detection timing, are input; a first wiring which inputs the timing signal to the substrate; a second wiring which inputs a conveyance synchronisation signal of the conveyance device to the substrate; a passage abnormality detection means which is disposed on the substrate and detects abnormalities in the passage of sheets of paper by detecting the states of the first output signal and the second output signal at the detection timing; and a connection state detection means which is disposed on the substrate and detects the connection state of the first wiring by comparing the timing signal and the conveyance synchronisation signal.
