A dummy head (1) (jig for processing a cylinder block) having a dummy head body (10) that, in finishing of a cylinder bore (3), deforms the cylinder bore (3) by being assembled to a head installation surface (4) of a cylinder block (2). A projection (20) having a contact surface (21), which is in contact with that peripheral edge of the cylinder bore (3) that is on the head installation surface (4), is provided on the dummy head body (10), on its installation surface (11) side that is installed on the cylinder block (2). At least the dummy head body (10) is adapted to have higher rigidity than the cylinder block (2).
