Abstract:
The present invention relates to a joint for connecting adjacent pipes, the joint comprising: a body having a hollow shape; couplings which surround the outer circumferences of pipes inserted into either end of the body and the outer circumference of the body, and couple the pipes to the body; and packing members mounted to ensure watertightness between the coupling and the pipes. More particularly, the present invention relates to a joint for connecting pipes, the joint being characterized in that: each of the couplings has a semi-circular upper coupling and a semi-circular lower coupling which are coupled in a circular shape; flanges having bolt holes are formed on either end of each of the upper and lower couplings; the upper coupling and the lower coupling are coupled to each other by inserting bolts into the bolt holes formed in the flanges; and first seat grooves, on which the packing members are seated, and second seat grooves, on which protruding rings that protrude along the outer circumferential edges of the body are seated, are formed in the inner circumferential edges of the upper and lower couplings. As described above, the present invention has the significant effects of facilitating watertightness by means of the packing members each having a space portion formed therein, and of achieving tight clamping due to having the protruding rings and the seat portions coupled to the protruding rings, respectively, in the outer circumferential edges of the body and the inner circumferential edges of the couplings.
