Abstract:
A joint mechanism characterized in that reliable sealing effect is attained, pull-out
accident of connected pipe can be prevented, elongation/contraction of the
connected pipe can be dealt with, and no special tool is required for installation work.
An outer ring groove (3) for containing a stopper member (11) is carved in the inner
circumferential wall of a joint body (1), and a stopper member inlet (4) is carved
in the joint body at that position of the outer wall thereof slightly shifted toward
the insertion end side from the carved position of the outer ring groove. The
stopper member is twisted spirally such that it is misaligned at the opposite
ends thereof, and the inner circumferential wall of the outer ring groove is formed
to a tapered surface that expands from the trailing end side toward the leading
end side in the inserting direction. Outer circumferential wall of the stopper
member is also formed to a tapered surface that corresponds to that tapered surface,
and the inner circumferential wall of the stopper member is formed substantially
in parallel with the outer circumferential wall of the connected pipe and that
inner circumferential wall face is roughened.
