Abstract:
The present invention relates to a journal foil air bearing for supporting a load applied in the radial direction of a rotary shaft rotating around a center line, the bearing comprising: a first top foil disposed to face the outer peripheral surface of the rotary shaft, and disposed to surround the rotary shaft; a second top foil disposed to surround the first top foil; a bump foil which is an elastically deformable member, and which is disposed to surround the second top foil; a base foil disposed to surround the bump foil; and at least one separation prevention part, which is provided at the first top foil and restrains the first foil from being separated in the longitudinal direction of the rotary shaft, wherein the separation prevention part protrudes a predetermined length toward the second top foil, and is retrained by means of the second top foil so as not to be moved in the longitudinal direction of the rotary shaft. According to the present invention, the first top foil is not pushed out in the longitudinal direction of the rotary shaft during operation, and thus the bearing does not have reduced performance and does not sustain serious secondary damage caused by contact between the outwardly pushed first top foil and other components.
