Abstract:
The present application belongs to the technical field of computers. Disclosed are a kernel upgrade method and apparatus. The method comprises: a processor running a first kernel, recording, in a reserved storage space in the first kernel, device state information of a device managed by the first kernel, and receiving a kernel upgrade instruction; and the processor stopping running the first kernel according to the kernel upgrade instruction, running a second kernel, acquiring, in the second kernel, the device state information from the reserved storage space, and initializing, on the basis of the device state information, the device managed by the first kernel. By means of the present application, the amount of time consumed by kernel upgrade is shortened, thereby reducing the influence of a relatively long kernel upgrade time on a service which is implemented by means of a kernel.
