Abstract:
A key unit formed with a mechanical key unit, which enables a lock mechanism provided in a door to switch between a locked state and an unlocked state in response to a mechanical operation, and a portable device, which is formed by embedding in a case a transmission unit capable of transmitting wireless signals for the purpose of switching the lock mechanism between the locked state and the unlocked state, wherein the case (32) is constructed so as to be capable of opening/closing, and at least a part of a mechanical key (11B) is stored in a removable manner within the case (32) so as to be covered by the case (32) when the case (32) is closed, and a detection means (70) that detects the storing of the mechanical key (11B) in the case (32) is provided in the portable device (20) so as to permit the operation of the transmission unit (31) only when the stored state of the mechanical key (11B) is detected. Thus, the portable device and the mechanical key can be arranged compactly, improving portability, and it is possible to prevent the user from forgetting to store the mechanical key in the case.
